Building assets in children is not a project or program. It is a journey that should take place during the developmental years (ages 0-20) of all children.
Great Kids of Allen County

It's a summer full of activity here at Great KIDS! As schools are letting out for the year, and community organizations are ramping up for extended programming, Great KIDS isn't going on vacation! This summer, take advantage of the learning opportunities we offer - from our ever popular Mental Health Training Series (although you'll have to fight for a seat - they go fast, but we keep a waiting list!), to the Inside the Mind of a Juvenile Firesetter Conference on August 26, or maybe our just announced Centralized Reporting Hotline training on July 14. Visit our Training Schedule page for more information, along with instructions on how to register.

Summer is a great time for agencies to take advantage of our personalized training programs as well. Contact Great KIDS to schedule presentations for your agency on the 40 Developmental Assets, Say Yes to No and/or Mediawise. These trainings are tailored to your agency and can be anything from a brief overview of the topic to a customized, in-depth workshop designed to complement the good work Allen County agencies are already doing.

What would a Great KIDS summer be however, without looking ahead to a fantastic fall? We are ready to roll on the October 7, 2010 21st Annual Conference on Youth - the speakers are booked, the location is secured (the Grand Wayne Center of course!) and registrations are starting to come in. Visit our Conference on Youth page to learn more, read speaker bios and download the registration form - you do NOT want to miss this year's conference! New for this year too - we are keeping up with the digital age! Check out our Facebook Fan page and watch video clips of our speakers, see pictures from Conferences past, connect with other asset-builders and "like" us to receive exclusive Facebook updates!

So much to do, see, attend, experience - its a "Great" summer! Along the way, be sure to tell us (maybe through our Facebook page??) what you are doing, how you're building assets in young people, and the exciting things happening in your agency. We can't wait to hear from you!
