Great KIDS Make Great COMMUNITIES, as an initiative, traces its roots back to a single training held on the campus of then Indiana Purdue University, Fort Wayne in 1990. What began then, the Annual Conference on Youth, Families and Communities has grown into an event drawing over 1,400 participants each year, making it one of the region's largest gatherings dedicated to youth and family services.

The conference brings together hundreds of local educators, youth workers, social service professionals, and community leaders for a full day of learning, networking, and connection. Attendees can expect keynote speakers, specialized breakout sessions, and a Service Provider Fair showcasing area agencies and resources — all grounded in strengths-based, positive youth, family and community development practices. Continuing Education Units are available for LSW, LCSW, LMHC, and LMFT licensure through the Indiana Professional Licensing Agency, making the conference a valuable stop for professionals maintaining their credentials.
